Description

Two song performance from the acclaimed musical Next to Normal, Tony Awards Performance, nominated for Best Musical. In this scene we find Diana Goodman (Alice Ripley), pulling out a cake for their son, who has been dead for years now. Her husband, Dan attempts to convince her to return to the hospital and the doctor by telling her that she isn't the only one who has gone through tough times like this. In a dazing hallucination, Diana imagines that her long lost son is fighting with her husband for her affection and attention. This is a powerful scene from a wonderful musical.
