1953 Desoto Firedome - Hemi 276 ticking sound

Description

Went for a hard drive in the hills, came home, shut it off. Went back next day to change oil and oil was shooting out of oil cannister and engine was making a ticking sound on passenger side. Thought valves might be ticking from low oil. Did oil and filter change. Still ticking and cannister has a slow leak from the bolt. Cork washed on cannister bad? Plan to get Hot Head Hemi oil filter kit to replace old filter system . But no idea about ticking sound.Ideas? Please ignore the loud belt.
