Datsun fun

Description

(Raw video with annotations). This is in car video of my 71 Datsun 510 with a L20b 2.0L 4cyl and a 500 cfm Edlebrock carb. The car is now in the shop awaiting the install of a 3.8L fuel injected V-6 pulled out of a 2000 camaro. The L20b was probably producing 150hp with out the nitrous on. The V-6 is rated at 200hp but after headers new exhuast and intake we should be at 230hp or so. Add to that a 70hp shot of nitro and I should be at my goal of 300hp. The vehicle weight has increased from 2100lbs to almost 2350lbs because of a complete chassis roll cage and the V-6 is slightly heavier. But still at 2350lbs (with me in it) and 300hp my power to weight ratio is still a respectable 7.83lbs per hp. That puts me right in the mix with the best of them. Even the new Nissan GTR is rated at 8.1lbs per hp. As you may know the 510's can easily pull over 1g on the skidpad with the right setup. So my car may not be as nice, but I just might be able to make some high dollar cars feel pretty stupid. Stay tuned for updates and more video of the new setup!!!!!!!!
