Video walk through of the new 2010 VW JSW TDI (turbo diesel). This is the base model, no add ons. Manual transmission. The 2.0L turbodiesel engine makes140 horsepower at 4000 rpm and 236 lb.-ft. of torque at only 1750 rpm. Chipped, it makes 200 hp / 300 lb/ft torque. The big deal about this car isn't the torque, it's the fuel economy. Typical users see ~36 mpg city, 43 mpg highway. Some get even better numbers than this. Interesting since the EPA way over estimates the Prius' ratings, but they way under rate the TDI.
