Review: 2006 Pontiac Solstice

Description

Go to MYRIDE.COM for more car videos. For 2006, Pontiac introduces the Solstice, an affordable new roadster that looks to take Mazda's redesigned MX-5 Miata head on. Like the fabled Jaguar E-Type, the 2006 Pontiac Solstice features a reverse clamshell hood and sensuous bodywork, but that's where the yesteryear comparisons end. Under the hood is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that puts 170 horsepower to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The interior features tasteful design, driver-oriented controls and enough space for larger and taller people. Weighing in at 2860 pounds, the Solstice has a power-to-weight ratio that should prove beneficial on canyon roads.
