1966 BUICK SKYLARK CONVERTIBLE - BUICK'S MID-SIZE MUSCLE CAR
Description
Back in '66 car makers still offered a multitude of models to reach all market levels. Buick offered at the low end Special, followed by Skylark, LeSabre, Wildcat, Electra 225, and Riviera. What makes the mid-size Skylark a muscle car? The 2 V8 engine choices. A 300 cid, like this one with 210 hp., or a 401 cid, with 325 horses. The latter engine also available with the Skylark GS that offered more options and features. With 2904 lbs, either V8 engine could propel this lightweight to extraordinary speed quickly. Same with the GS Skylark that weighed 3167 lbs. So like the other intermediate size models, the Skylark is definitely Buick's muscle car. ( The Buick Wildcat model is powerful too with a 401 or 425 V8, but it is a large car sharing the Electra 225 platform. ) Thanks very much for viewing this 1966 Buick Skylark convertible.
