This 1930s era performance by Joseph Allard of the beautiful 6/8 tune "La mère Blanche" was originally released as Victor 263548 on a 78rpm disc. It was later re-issued on an LP of original Allard recordings "Portrait Du Vieux Kebec", Le Tamanoir TAM-511. Joseph Allard's early records were very influential on the fiddle styles of both French and English Canada, as well as in the Northeastern United States.
