Entry from: Venice, Italy Entry Title: "Waking up in Venice - Smig blacks out the hotel" Entry: "(Smig) Well we don't really wake up in Venice, but we wake up on the train around 6 am which is about 1.5 hours outside of Venice. We get hot caffelatte and a packaged sweet roll of some kind. The Latte is very good. We clean up as best we can in our little room and change clothes before we get off the train. The ride was quite nice given that we covered so much ground while sleeping. Once in Venice, we knew we had the odds against us because the alleys are roughly marked and we didn't have a map. We fumbled about for a good 20 minutes looking for the hotel that was right in front of us. Albergo Marin is where we are staying for one night. We can't check in until 1pm and it's barely 9am, but we can dump all of our luggage and just wander through the city. We are up just about anything but first thing is more coffee and a little more food. We still don't have a map, nor do we have an Italian phrase book. We are speaking French to the Italians...Too funny. We muddle through, hoping that we aren't the obnoxious Americans that Europe knows so well. We find Cappuccinos to go and grab a couple raisin bread things and just stroll. Lets find a map and a bookstore (librarie) The weather was absolutely fabulous, 75 <b>...</b>
