BMW M6 E63/ E64 Production Comes To An End
Description
BMW has announced they have ended production of the current-generation M6 Coupe and Convertible (E63/64). Originally launched in 2005, the coupe would go on to sell 9087 units. The convertible also proved popular as it sold 5065 copies since debuting in 2006. The top markets were the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom. As you may recall, both vehicles were powered by a 5.0-liter V10 engine with 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. It enabled the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, while the convertible accomplished the same task in 4.8 seconds. Sadly, with the end of the M6, the V10 has also been killed off. If you're sad the M6 is gone, don't be. A new model will be introduced in 2012 with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 that churns out 570 hp (425 kW / 578 PS). Source: BMW & World Car Fans
