Toyota Avensis, 1999, 1.8 litre motor sound

Description

What is the problem with this car? Hacking / ticking noise comes from left side of engine. Is it a Timing Belt issue? The timing belt was changed 70 000 kilometers ago (2007). Today, the car has gone 130 000 kilometers. Solution: The problem with this car was the "servo pump". It had some malfunction so we needed to replace it, which solved the problem. On this Toyota Avensis, the servo pump is located left of the engine.
