Entry: "Ah, back on the mainland after an excellent break on Fraser Island and time to get back on the highway from Hervey Bay and head Brisbane way... Should be easy, eh? Well... Sadly, road signs to get you out of Hervey Bay and onto the main roads are not exactly in abundance and once we did start in the right direction I have to admit that I made a slight error in my map reading and took us on a slightly indirect route back South... My excuse is that I'd printed maps off the internet that didn't quiet overlap, and when I thought I was heading toward a main artery down toward Brisbane it turned out I was actually heading towards a... Cattle farm. Our wee Toyota Corolla had a great time on the unsealed, single track road as we careered along at over 100km/hr (Sophie was very restrained!) I was of course convinced that we'd make it back on the right road eventually (even with the sun occasionally being on the wrong side of us... Oops!) and be back within the 4 hours it should have taken us toget to our destination. Through skill, judgement and a fair bit of luck if I'm being honest I managed to get us back onto the Bruce Highway and to Brissy (a few excellent suggestions from Soph on route and direction were of course <b>...</b>
