M-Sport Steering Wheel Swap On BMW E39 5-series

Description

I recently swapped my original 4 spoke steering wheel for the 3 spoke sport wheel offered on early model M5's as well as early model E39's with the sport package. The swap took me about 15 minutes once I found a breaker bar that was big enough to loosen the hub bolt which holds the steering wheel onto the steering column itself. I ordered the M-Sport wheel from German Auto Recycling on their Ebay store for just under $400 with the airbag included. This is a huge upgrade for those who dislike the standard 4 spoke comfort wheel and want the 3 spoke sport wheel that came with the sport package. Visually, the interior was improved with the swap and driving the car is also much more enjoyable with a proper performance wheel.
