Entry from: Cape Tribulation, Australia Entry Title: "Aaahhh-stralia" Entry: "Well we finally pulled ourselves away from Caves Beach and the Smith's hospitality and headed out to explore the world's biggest island. It is also the only island which is its own continent. In other words, Australia is big, real big. We knew we had officially arrived during our stop-over in Darwin. The morning newspaper's front page story was about a crocodile caught in a tourist area. The photograph showed two park rangers tentatively lassooing a croc which seemed to measure somewhere close to 15 feet from nose to tail. Nor the rangers or the croc looked particularly happy in the photograph. The secondary story was of a 15 year old surfer at Bondi beach just outside of Sydney who was attacked by a great white shark (he survived, all limbs intact). There seemed to be a lot of things to kill us in Australia. We would soon discover there are many more (snakes, spiders, and rip currents). We headed north along the east coast. Our first stop was at Crowdy Bay state park. The campground is just off the beach and the only thing crowding us was the kangaroos hopping around our tents in the morning. We continued on, camping at some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Places like Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise, Crescent and <b>...</b>
