BMW Tensioner Pulley Noise /// 330i (E46)
Description
Reference: What a failed bearing in the Tensioner Pulley sounds like - this unit is on driver side of the motor that handles the water pump, alternator, and power steering. This is a MECHANICAL TENSIONER (Not a hydraulic) The serpentine belt and idler pulley had been removed prior to video taping this demo. Also, note the screw driver used to hold open the tensioner unit while I released the belt. Link : (How to Remove the Tensioner Pulley) www.youtube.com Please Note - Do this at your own risk. Follow all Safety Procedures. Wear Eye Protection! Wear mechanics gloves if possible. Not responsible if you break anything (Yourself or Property) End Legal Mumbo Jumbo Disclaimer. This DIY was performed on a 02 BMW E46 330i automatic, alpine white paint, with Sport Suspension Package, you know the drill. So if that is not your vehicle, there might be differences.
