1973 BMW 3.0 CS E9 dyno run -- 233 hp

Description

I just had my first dyno run ever this morning - what fun! My '73 Coupe recently had a powertrain upgrade to a 1984 BMW 635 CSi high compression long block, full Motronic 1.3 fuel injection and engine mgt plus L-Jetronic intake system with larger C-runners for the authentic look and big torque. She also just received CoupeKing's full stainless, high-flow performance exhaust system for some added ponies and better sound. I just about fell over when I heard her hit 4000 rpms on the dyno; was this my CS or an IMSA-spec CSL race car on the track? The numbers were 197 wheel hp and 217 lb ft of torque. We also discovered she was running lean through the rev range (about 14:1) so my mechanic has some good data to dial her in and extract even more power. So I'll be back to the dyno again for part 2 and thanks to my new friends at Superior Automotive and their dyno in Anaheim, CA.
