Lot S85 1965 Chevrolet Corvette 327 365 HP 4-Speed
Description
The Corvette's popularity increased once again in 1965, with the widest choice of engines ever, including a new 396 big block and five levels of power available in the 327. Chevrolet knew better than to mess with success, so exterior styling changes were few. Few color combinations did more for the Corvette than Rally Red on a Red interior, as this restored beauty demonstrates. A look under the hood reveals a freshly-overhauled 365 horsepower L76 327. A $129 option in 1965, this is the strongest carbureted small block offered that year, with 11:1 compression, a solid lifter cam, Holley four barrel, aluminum intake and high-flow heads. An M20 four speed manual transmission, J50 power four wheel disc brakes and C60 factory air conditioning are also part of this car's original equipment. The fresh Rally Red finish combines with P48 cast aluminum knock-offs, 7.75x15 Whitewall tires and the N14 side mount exhaust for the model Stingray look. Like the rest of the car, the Red interior is sparkling and superbly detailed. Options here include a Teakwood steering wheel, power windows, Soft Ray tinted glass and AM/FM radio.
