1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427 Convertible
Description
Around the middle of last century, General Motors was the biggest company in the world by a long way. Back then, GM was selling everything from home appliances and insurance to locomotives (and cars of course), but something was missing -- their product lines didn't include a sportscar. Enter the Corvette. First unveiled in 1953, GM has been making the Corvette ever since. So far, it's been through six different model generations, and this gorgeous example was made in 1966, so it's part of the second generation (the Sting Rays -- produced 1963-1967). For a lot of enthusiasts, this generation of Corvettes is regarded as the pick of the entire series, and the "big blocks" are among the most collectible Corvettes ever.
