Description
Nickel Stats: Canada 1858-1919 - 92.5% silver 1920-1921 - 80% silver 1922-1981 - 99.9% nickel with the exception of 1942-1943 - 80% copper 1944,45 & 1953,54 - chrome plated steel 1982-1999 @ 75% copper, 25% nickel 2000-current 94.5% steel The 2000, 2001 & 2004 nickels that contain copper and nickel weigh 4.6g, while the others weigh 4.0g USA War time and old years they had silver in it and all of their other nickels are 25% nickel/75% copper at 4.6g per coin. Today the 25/75 coins are around the melt value with copper at $3.40 and Nickel at $10.00 per pound. The 99.9% coins are double its melt value and I expect these to hold fairy well during hyper inflation. If this inflation does not happen, then you have the printed value
