Hampton Downs January 2010 Muscle Cars. The butt ugly #50 white thing is an NZ racing legend, rebuilt after 35 years in time for the opening weekend. A 5 inch steel tube frame holds a butchered and lowered '55 Ford Customline body and a Galaxie big block developing about 500 ponies. It totally dominated saloon racing in NZ in 1967, and was promptly banned for "safer", more moderate Group 5 class saloon racing the next season. It was/is called "The Custaxie" Wheels, diff and tryes were off trucks, Borg Warner T10 box, the nose was a fibreglass creation, interior - "spartan" After some qukcmk testing 2 months back, and one day on track, he had it sorted, and it cleaned up the Ferrari 275 "Competizone", Shelby Mustangs and all other comers.
