Lot S81 1968 Mustang GT 428 Cobra Jet
Description
This 1968 Mustang GT 428CJ was a gift to an officer retiring from a career at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL. It was one of only three '68 GTs built without power steering, and is now the only one still extant. The original owner eventually traded the car to Rick Anderson of Anderson Ford Motorsports in Clinton, the noted Ford performance dealer and dyno-tuner. Recently restored, this immaculate example's understated Meadowlark Yellow paint and Black interior are accented by its Black vinyl top. Along with the black striping, GT touches on this car include front grill-mounted fog lamps, pop-open gas cap, heavy-duty suspension, split-outlet dual exhaust, and Firestone Wide Oval F70-14 tires on steel GT wheels. The R-code 428CJ engine in this numbers-matching car is spotless and completely as original. Options include a heavy-duty C6 automatic transmission, a 3.91:1 Traction-Lok rear and power disc brakes. A two-owner factory special 428 Cobra Jet, this hardtop GT is certified by a deluxe Marti report as the only one of its breed. Highlights: - Deluxe Marti Report, certified 1 of 1 with power steering delete - Factory R-code car - All numbers match - Recent rotisserie restoration - Meadowlark Yellow with Black interior - C-6 Cruise-O-Matic Automatic transmission - 3.91 Traction-Lok differential - Power disc brakes
