Honda Accord EX-V6 0-60 test The Honda Accord: The Honda Accord was introduced by Honda in 1976. It was one of only three Hondas originally sold in America. In 1982, the Accord became the first Japanese car to be produced in the United States. Since the Accord's creation, Honda has offered several different car body styles including a sedan, coupé, and wagon. The DX model came with a 135 bhp 2.3L I4 engine, while the LX and EX included a 150 bhp 2.3L I4 VTEC engine. All V6 sedan and coupe models received the new 200 bhp 3.0L V6 SOHC VTEC engine. Despite the Accord's reputation for reliability, the V6 models were involved in a class action law suit due to transmission failures. In response, Honda extended warranties for the 2000 through 2001 models to 7 years or 109000 miles.
