All New 2011 Honda Insight Debuts in the 2010 KLIMS

Honda Malaysia has created a stir at KLIMS'10 by launching its hybrid offensive with the all-new Insight. Offered with a special 5-year/140000km warranty (3-years by Honda Motor, Japan and 2-years by Honda Malaysia) the Insight has a list price of RM98,000 OTR including insurance. At the launch, Mr. Shigeru Yamazaki, Director of Honda Malaysia and General Manager of Automobile Business Division at Asian Honda elaborated on the concept of the Insight and said it was conceived to "set the standard for compact cars for a new era". He added: "The development team aimed to develop Next Era Transportation. So our passion was to create a vehicle that helps building the bridge from the automobiles of today to the ultimate mobility of the future, which will not require any fossil fuel". The resulting car is a compact 5-door hatchback that features an aerodynamic exterior inspired that ends with an aero tail for superb wind cheating properties. Along with an advanced and futuristic interior design, it's a car that is both fun-to-drive and practical. The Insight is powered by Honda's new generation of Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) System that recaptures and stores kinetic energy from vehicle braking and deceleration, and supplies additional power for acceleration when needed. It consists of a 65-kilowatt (88PS) 1.3liter SOHC i-VTEC engine, a 10-kilowatt (14PS) electric motor and a newly improved Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) that has been made 19% more compact and 28% lighter in size <b>...</b>
