MUGEN NSX-RR Concept (2009)
Description
"Honda NSX Mugen RR Concept" from Tokyo Auto Salon 2009 - this is my top favorite concept car from Mugen of all time. There are no other tuners in the world that could modify NSX like this - the one you can feel the real racing technology feedback from SuperGT. This bodykit looked almost the same as NSX-GT, but it actually fitted the Japanese production car regulations, which meant if this car was put into production, we could actually drive it on streets. As Mugen had created a concept model of Civic Type RR(double-R, based on JDM FD2) on 2007 and just 6 months later, they had put that into real production of 300 limited cars, many people expected this "NSX-RR Concept" to be another dream-come-true in the near future... which never happened. There are no official announcement from Mugen ever after, but I have personally asked few people from Mugen and they had told me 2 major issues they were facing regarding the production of NSX-RR. One was that Honda NSX had already finished its production on 2005, so Mugen had to think of a way to purchase "lots of fresh used NSX". Aiming to build the best NSX ever, basically they didn't like the idea to purchase used NSX - a car they have no idea of its true condition. And the other issue was the price. Mugen Civic Type RR was almost twice the price of the base FD2 (4.7million yen to 2.8million), but if Mugen were to purchase used NSXs, restore them, seriously develop new parts and settings, and manufacture NSX-RR (probably using <b>...</b>
