XJ220 run up Kop hill 2010
Description
A run up the hill at the Kop hill Hill climb 2010. This was an event I did this year. The road was rather narrow and the 220 tends to spin the rears very easily in both 1st and 2nd.This can have the effect of the car wanting the swap ends in a blink of the eye, so I short shifted first and second just as the tyres lost traction.Third tends to be confidance inspiring traction wise unless wet.Rear tyres are the 1993 originals so are probably a bit hard. The marshals(men in orange) were behind bales beside the road.ie very close so conservatism was the order of the day! The road was litterally a closed off very small country road with no passing places. The little squeal from the passenger, near the end, was at about about 60-70mph,The car hit a little bump that you just wouldnt know was there. This happened just after I put my foot down accelerating in third. I had passed a marshals post and road was clear so gave it some beans and the back went very light, spinning up the rears. It doesnt look much on the video but it took us by surprise. Wouldnt have taken much to do some hedge cutting that day!
