Introduction The Eclipse is Mitsubishi's sporty coupe that is redesigned for 2006 with bold new styling first revealed by the Eclipse Concept-E at the 2004 North American International Auto Show. The Eclipse has been the best-selling import coupe for the last fifteen years. With bold new styling and powerful new engines, the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse delivers a higher level of sophistication, and Mitsubishi aspires to impress a new group of buyers with this car as well. For 2007 Mitsubishi adds a convertible version of its Eclipse called the Eclipse Spyder to its lineup. New for 2007 The 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse adds a standard anti-theft system with hood switch, Sun & Sound Package featuring a power sunroof and a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system, and seven new exterior colors. Joining the lineup for 2007 is a convertible version called the Eclipse Spyder. Offered in two trim levels, GS and GT, the Eclipse Spyder shares the same engines as the coupe with a slightly lower horsepower rating in the V6. The Eclipse Spyder's automatic cloth top folds completely out of sight under a flush-fitting powered tonneau cover in about 19 seconds. Both trims feature a standard 650-watt Rockford Fosgate premium audio system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback capability, including a six-disc in-dash CD changer with the system specifically designed for top-up or top-down driving.
