1974 AMC Matador TV Commercial Audio Only

This is the audio from a 1974 AMC Matador TV Commercial. The Matador Coupe was redesigned in 1974. AMC saw increased Sales in the early 70's and this new coupe was directly aimed at the Mid Sized Sport Coupe Market. They compare it to the Ford Torino and Chevy Chevelle in this ad. The Theme, "What's a Matador" was introduced in 1973. I remember as a young teen that this ad worked and people were becoming aware of this car. If I recall. this ad featured two neighbors, one comes out to the others driveway and sees a car covered in a sheet. "1974" was printed in bold numbers on the sheet. As the neighbor guesses what kind of car is under the sheet, the sheet was then pulled off to the fanfare in the commercial and you saw a bright red Matador X with the white stripping under the sheet. It was a very different and impressive car. People may argue the point now but back then, compared to a Ford Torino Coupe or Chevelle Coupe, this looked just as good. Almost 100 thousand Matadors of all models were produced in 1974
