The Classic Cruiser Show #4 The 1958 Rambler Ambassador
Description
The 1958 Rambler Ambassador was the first car to come from American Motors after the demise of the Nash and Hudson nameplates. Early in 1957 the AMC management decided to stop designs on the big Nash and Hudson cars and concentrate on the Rambler. The designers were told to make a big car out of the standard Rambler. The Rambler was streached 9 inches ahead of the firewall. The results were the Rambler Ambassador. With it's 327 V8 and new tail fins it was an instant success. Eventually becoming the third selling car in the country.
