KTM X-Bow Thailand Launch: Presentation

The unique KTM X-Bow has been officially launched in Thailand by Kunka Corporation, the sole authorised importer for the Austrian motorcycle -- and now extreme sports car -- manufacturer, the debut for this street-legal ready to race machine taking place on a temporary racing circuit laid out on the spacious apron of a purpose-built motorsports arena located in the northeast of the city in the Raminthra district right in the shadow of the Wonder World theme park and the Fashion Island mall. The X-Bow is stuffed with F1-derived technology and clad in swathes of carbon fibre that clings to its monocoque which was developed, and is built, by the world's leading production race car constructor Dallara. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Audi TSFI engine mated up to a 6-speed manual transmission is capable of punching out 240 bhp at 6000 rpm. While this figure doesn't exactly sound earth-shattering when the responsive German engine is shoehorned into the back of the X-Bow the total package weighs in at just 790 kgs (helped in part by the fact the car has no doors, roof or windscreen - just a 70 mm high wind deflector) and that adds up to a stunning 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds. The company's favoured slogan for the X-Bow is ready to race -- the car can be used at anytime on the road or the racetrack with suspension changes being a simple proposition for the driver to make.
