1963 Renault Dauphine

Description

This is the car that logically COULD have dethroned the Volkswagen Beetle...but it was never much of a success in this country. I attribute that to a sketchy dealer network, and possibly reliability problems. Renault has had a tattered history in this country...later sending the "Le Car" to the US That too had very scattered sales. It had, like the Volkswagen, a rear engine, and rear drive. The only Dauphine was the four door sedan, although they did make a sporty model too.
