CHANNEL: www.youtube.com TWITTER: www.twitter.com FACEBOOK: www.Facebook.com Dont let its elongated looks and the fact that it has room for four fool you. The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is about a precise as a brain surgeons scalpel and about as powerful as Bruce Banner after he gets mad. How did Ferrari obtain such stellar performance in a car designed to carry a family of four? They started with an aluminium space frame construction and, by increasing the wheelbase, Ferrari was able to move the front axle out to in front of the engine, giving it a front mid-engine layout and a more balanced front-to-rear weight ratio. Though it did not get the same 6.0-liter V-12 out of the Enzo like the 599 GTB, it still uses a V-12 at 5.7 liters in size and making 532 hp. At over 193 inches long, about the size of a medium-sized SUV, the 612 has been criticized for its styling, which some feel looks elongated and un-proportional. In 2009, the Ferrari F1-style automated manual was updated with faster shift times—now changing gears as fast as 100 milliseconds. The 612 also gained the 599s steering-wheel-mounted Manettino dial. An electrochromic panoramic roof was added and covers the entire roof of the cabin. The neat thing about the new roof is it allows, with the touch of a button, one to change the opacity of the glass. The brakes were not left alone either and are now composed of a carbon-ceramic material.
