1987 Toyota Celica; AT160 - 4A-GE (1.6 GT)
Description
-TURN DOWN THE VOLUME A BIT, IT'S REALLY LOUD!- Took a 1987 Celica (4th Generation) out for a drive today and... well... As much as the car was fun because of the high revs, it sucked in every possible way. Don't get me wrong now. The T160 series of Celica's are great by all means. Were this car new, it would have been really good. But the one you see here in this video, was just plain horrible. The clutch didn't want to work properly, during engine breaking in 3rd the gear would pop out, the handbrake got jammed a few times... This car cost 1950€. I told the dealer that there's no way I would pay him more than 700€ for this junk. It's full of rust, the suspension is broken, the brakes are worn out, the exhaust manifold has a clear crack on it, the glass is broken, the seats are ripped apart and the car has been driven 333.000km. And these Celica's, with the 4A-GE engine, usually last 200.000km and after that, they want to break down. The dealer said that he ain't sellin' cheaper than 1800€. Well, I'm saying that he was out of his mind. NOBODY will pay 1800€ for a broken down junk like this, when you can get a GOOD and properly working, 250000km driven 1988 2.0 GTi model for 1600€! WHAT WAS HE THINKING?! I was sent out to search for cheap Celica's to see if it's possible to buy a good and working Celica for less than 2000€ (in Finland). The answer is yes, you can, but you gotta avoid the ones that are like this one, in the video.
