Freddie Everett - Purple Haze (Jimmy Hendrix cover)
Description
This was at Jump Sports Bar in Houston. Freddie said the drummer, Morris Stanley, started experiencing symptoms of MS (a sister disease to ALS) around the same time that Freddie started experiencing symptoms of ALS in 2002, adding, "Pretty weird. Huh?" Freddie says Morris is worse off than he is (thoughts and prayers to Morris). The performance gets pretty cool right after the bass player, Michelle Henderson, shouts at the camera. I wasn't sure about uploading this, because of the glitches on the tape (a big one near the end), but Freddie said to go for it. It's still way cool. Since YouTube isn't allowing m to reply or comment on my own page (I hear others have that trouble, too), I'll reply to @maaads20's comment here... Glad to hear about Morris. Freddie's mind wasn't to clear when he told me that date. That was when he was starving to death, before the trach and feeding tube. While ALS and MS are two separate diseases that act in different ways, they are frequently referred to as sister diseases by professionals, along with MD (muscular dystrophy), because they have similar symptoms. One huge difference is that MS can have exacerbations and remissions of unpredictable lengths, and sometimes (rarely), completely goes away. ALS just keeps progressing.. always. Really good to hear Morris is actually playing again. Thanks man.
