Hard working Steam locomotive 2-8-0, 385, on Morris County Central in 1977...

We watch a ex-Southern Steam locomotive 2-8-0 running on the ex- NYS&W at Newfoundland NJ. The locomotive was in its Southern green scheme, but was painted black for this years opperating season. A D&H wooden caboose brings up the rear. The train works hard up grade near the end of its run in Stockhom, NJ. The railroad only opperated a year or so after this. Do to lack of maintance on the locomotives, most of the time, the train never made it back. I recall one time being there, the train left the station at Newfoundland, and the passengers walked back to the station when the locomotive broke down a mile or so out. Pretty bad PR on their part. These where taken with a Kodak Super 8 sound movie camera. Thanks for watching...
