WELL ITS FINALLY COMING TOGETHER AFTER 6 MONTHS OF SCOUTING AROUND FOR PARTS THAT ARE GETTING VERY RARE. I DONT THINK A YEAR FROM NOW I WILL BE ABLE TO FIND ENOUGH PARTS TO BUILD ANOTHER ONE . THERE ARE NOT A LOT OF READY MADE EUROPA STEYR PUCH 500S MODEL LEFT. AND THE BONE YARDS THAT I KNOW OF MAYBE HAVE ENOUGH PARTS TO MAKE ANOTHER ONE. THIS FIAT CONVERSION HAS A 126 SYNCRO TRANS.NANNI MAKES 5 AND 6 SPEED CONVERSIONS. WITH CLOSE OR VERY CLOSE RATIOS . THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS SET UP TO USE THE FORCED AIR FROM THE ENGINE RIGHT THRU ONE OF THE MUFFLER CANS.. WHEN I WAS IN AUSTRIA I HAD A CHANCE TO VISIT THE MAN WHO MADE THE HEADER SYSTEM . WITH ONE HAND.. HE ALSO DID A FULL RESTORATION ON HIS STEYR PUCH. ( AND THATS EVERYTHING INCLUDING ALL THE PAINT AND BODY WORK. THE HEADER SYSTEM IS ABOUT 500 DOLLARS PLUS SHIPPING. THIS AS YOU CAN HEAR GIVES THIS ENGINE ALMOST PERFECT TUNING WITH A NICE DEEP EXHAUST TONE.THE CARBURATOR IS COMPLETELY STOCK...WITH THE SPECIAL 126 FLYWHEEL AND THE HEAVY STARTER RING GEAR REMOVED IT IS ALMOST AS LIGHT AS A FACTORY TR VERSION...HENCE THE CRISP THROTTLE RESPONSE.. WITH THE BRACKETS I DESIGNED THIS ENGINE AND TRANS ASSEMBLED CAN BE INSTALLED IN THE FIAT WITH EASE..AND THEN REMOVED AFTER THE 4 MOUNTING BOLTS ARE IN PLACE. I HAVE A SPARE 126 PANDA TRANS THAT NEEDS A COMPLETE REBUILD WITH SYNCRO'S AND I FOUND A 126 P BELLHOUSING NEW IN GERMANY.THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE A CLOSE RATIO BOX BECAUSE YOU NEED TO REPLACE EVERYTHING ANYWAYS..
