Elton John & Lulu - River Deep, Mountain High (Rainforest Benefit Concert 2002)

Description

Rare Audio LIVE recording from the 2002 Rainforest Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The concert (2002 April 13), produced by Trudie Styler & Sting for their Rainforest Foundation, was dedicated to George Harrison and Herman Sandler, who had both died the previous year. Various artists sang George Harrison songs, as well as other sixties music. Included in the show were James Taylor, Sting, Lulu and Elton John, plus Jeff Beck, Smokey Robinson, Ravi Shankar, Nina Simone, Wynnona Judd, and Patti Labelle. Elton John and Lulu performed together on this song, a Phil Spector classic originally recorded by Tina Turner. In the sixties the song was a much bigger hit in the UK than it was in America. It sounds like Elton and Lulu really tore it up that night at Carnegie Hall!
