DigInfo - www.diginfo.tv Nissan Motor implemented a full model change on the Fairlady Z and began domestic sales of the new model on December 1st. In the nearly 40 years since the initial model Fairlady Z debuted in 1969, approximately 1.7 million units have been sold worldwide. The exterior features a dynamic body design that projects a powerful image and is available in a total of 8 body colors including 3 all-new Nissan colors. The interior was designed with pursuit of sports car functionality and an impression of stellar quality. The center cluster panel is covered with Sofilez, a new synthetic leather designed exclusively for the new Z, and the cockpit features Forte Suede, a new high-quality suede cloth. The wheelbase of the new model was shortened by 100mm compared to the previous model, and a lightweight design was pursued by utilizing aluminum in the engine hood, door panels and hatchback and by optimizing various body structures, to achieve nearly the same vehicle weight as the previous model. World class dynamic performance was also pursued by adopting the VQ37VHR engine, the world's first 6-speed manual transmission with synchronized rev control, and a newly developed 7-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode.
