1970 Holden GTR-X Coupe

Description

1970 Holden GTR-X Coupe footage. This was a working concept based on the LC Torana with a fibreglass skin, four-wheel disc brakes, pop-up headlights, liftback boot and featured the triple SU 186S engine of the famous Bathurst-winning GTR-XU1. Promotional brochures were made as was everything else that would come with a production car, but it was pulled at the last minute due to cost reasons as well as the small volume that were expected to sell. If it had made production it would have revolutionised the Australian market at the time as the only production sports car on the market, as well as the first Australian car with four-wheel disc brakes (that honour was taken later by the Torana A9X).
