Hyundai i10 Sportz Automatic Transmission Failure
Description
This is my Hyundai i10 Automatic sports car which is less than a year old. This is the second time that it had a complete electronics failure which i initially thought to be a transmission failure. Check that the car is in drive (D) and i am doing 9000 rpm but the car wont move. I tried in all the 3 transmission modes. Also you would see that the reverse siren is continuously engaged along with the reverse light and hazard indicators. Even when I powered off the ignition, the reverse light continued to be lit. I had to finally disconnect the battery to avoid a complete battery drain. This has been a fiasco for me and taken an oath not to buy a Hyundai car ever. Both the time it was an electronic failure and they said that somehow the wires became loose (which I fail to understand) and resulted in both the front drive and reverse transmission engaging together. Please excuse some of the terminologies if they are incorrect but this is the gist of what happened and what was communicated to me. A very unhappy Hyundai Customer.
