Detailing 2004 Red Lancer : http://keithatmitsubishicambridge.blogspot.com/
Description
This just a mix of photo's showing what can be done with some basic detailing tools, time and the right products. Using no power polisher just by hand. Due to a poor job done by the last owner the Lancer had buff marks and swirls from a cheap buffer and not keeping the pad clean. It also was badly bleached and covered in fall out making the car look flat. Leaving an other wise nice car looking aged. So here is just a run down on what I did to bring it back up: Full wash under over and around the car to get anything that could come up when wet sanding*mainly the hood, trunk and roof, You can see in the after wet sanding very carefully as paint/clear can be very thin the pink was cleaning up, but at this point it can freak a person out it can look worse than before but do one panel at a time so you can see the progress, used clay on the lower doors bumpers spoiler and other painted trim, You can realy see the contrast from the rear trunk deck to the rear fenders, Using Maguires 3 step process replacing the last finishing step with polymer longer lasting finish then the wax, I also did the same on the head lights to remove Yellow and bring them back to almost like new, This did take over 8hr to bring back to life and yes if I had used a polisher/Buffer (Porter Cable / Makita) it would have saved time but the car had a life of hatchet details and doing it by hand just seamed to resolve the swirls and other issues. Would I recommend doing this to your car NO but the results ...
