1969 Pontiac Firebird 428, 400+ Horsepower - SEE OTHER VIDS!
Description
Hey, for those who wondered about the gauge setup..... I got them from Equus. You can probably find them at Autozone, Advance, or O'Reilly auto parts. As you know, the standard gauges in the stock Firebird suck. The big one on the right has the oil pressure, water temp, and "Generator" power. Well, since I wanted an RPM guage, I found one that fit perfect in that hole. I used Urethane to hold it in place. The Speedo Gauge was easy to find and fit well also. You may have to cut some of the speedo cable end off in order to fit on the back of the guage. It is the screw-in type, and the Firebird had the clip on style. I bought a complete set for the other guages... Oil, Water, and Battery. I installed them into some 1/4 board material and covered with black leather to match interior. It fit where the old A/C controls were and since I removed the A/C there was no need for the controls. I installed a toggle switch in the dash where the cigarette lighter was that operates the blower fan for a heater. That way I still have defrost. If it gets hot in there, you can buy a valve to put on the heater hoses for use during the summer. It gets hot in the car with all that hot water running through the heater core. Interior Specs: All windows except front have been tinted 20%, new black carpet, headliner, front/rear door panels, dashpad, Carbon Fiber Leather seats, All new after-market dash gauges, Hurst Ratchet shifter, Kenwood 5032 CD player with Sirius/XM Satellite radio, and DUB ...
