My first car: '92 VW Jetta ECOdiesel

Description

I was too lazy to scan in all the photos and make a slideshow, so sorry about the glare. I owned this car for 4 years, and once I took care of the things that the previous owner neglected, it was reliable, fun to drive, and economical. The ECOdiesel was the predecessor to the TDI, and VW only sold about 800 of them in 1991 and 1992. The engine still used a mechanical injection pump (no ECU!), but it featured a specially tuned turbocharger and a catalytic converter to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.
