Triumph TR5 1952 All Correct & Sensible Upgrades
Description
Estimated sale price £8300.00 -- £9000.00 This extensively restored road legal competition motorcycle is about as good as you are likely to find, with matching numbers & original buff log book. The bike was made in the year when the Triumph factory could not get hold of chromium (due to the Korean war) so in this year only the bikes had painted fuel tanks and wheel rims. Although the engine has been rebuilt the bore and pistons are still on standard size. The gearbox, magneto, and front forks were also rebuilt in the restoration. The bike is as close to what it would have been like when it was sold new, but with a few nice modifications. The bike is still fitted with its original competition gearbox (the bottom 3 gears have a fairly a low ratio). The upgrades the bike has include 12V electrical system with sealed battery, hidden ignition switch, alloy wheel rims, with the rim size changed to suit easy replacement tyre availability. Where plating was needed Zinc plating was used instead of cadmium (cadmium plating is no longer legal). A rear carrier has been fitted instead of the rear pad style seat. This is because not many passengers would want to ride on a seat like that, especially with no rear suspension fitted to the bike. This is anall round good bike with no work to be done. It is a UK model that has been sitting around unused for a while, and the machine must now be sold, so the bike is entered in to this auction for a quick disposal. The videos in this ...
