Peugeot 406 2.0 turbo - exhaust, dump valve and boost rally
Description
PLEASE READ (UPDATED): Peugeot 406 SRi turbo with 150bhp. This is a UK-spec car, a 1996 model. The car was heavily work-in-progress at the time of filming (early 2007) and was suffering from reliability problems. I didn't dare do a "proper" wheelspin as the tracking and balancing were very far out of alignment and the tyres were on their way out. Most components are standard, including the dump valve. This is my first ever Youtube video so forgive me if it's a bit rough. The best way to get extra power on the 406 turbo is to add an exhaust, good air filter and then chip or remap the car to increase boost pressure. If your interior is poor quality, as in the SRi, strip it (but not if you plan to sell it afterwards!) to save a great deal of weight - the 406's weakness is its weight and NOT a lack of power. Peugeot 106 GTi weighs 960kg; Peugeot 406 turbo weighs 1335kg and there is less than a second between them on the 0-60 sprint. Imagine what would happen if you could reduce the 406's weight by 100kg.
