Mikheil Saakashvili continues official visit to Mexico 2010-12-10 Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili continues his official visit to Mexico. President attended a special dinner held by the President of Brazil. Mikheil Saakashvili also met with the president of Kiribati Anote Tong. On December 8, Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili delivered a speech as part of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which is taking place in Cancun, Mexico. Saakashvili began his speech in Spanish language in honor of the host country, and deserved applauses of the audience. He touched upon several issues, and highlighted that Georgia might soon become a country, which would develop based on "clean energy." International experts gave positive evaluation to Georgian President's initiative and claimed that they learned a lot about the potential of Georgia's natural resources. Saakashvili took the test drive of the Nissan mark of an electric drive vehicle for proving the efficiency and comfort of the electric vehicles, Georgian Minister of Economics and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia and the Environmental Minister Goga Khachidze were watching the president`s driving. The conference is the 16th one of its kind. It was opened on November 29 and will last till December 10. Its purpose is to elaborate long-term actions to hamper climate changes across the globe. A total of 192 countries and 20 state leaders are taking part in the conference.
