Two months after my last visit to the Super Car Thailand series at the Bira circuit in mid-July, it was back to the race track located half an hour from the resort of Pattaya for the next rounds of the series at the weekend. Super Car Thailand is run over four meetings during the year and Bira hosts the middle two, with Julys event having been round two while this one was round three, with just one more to come in November at Bangsaen. After my rude awakening to the level of racing on display in Thailand, I have two more months of going native and so I was very ready for the weekend, and with exciting racing guaranteed plus a great atmosphere I set off for Sundays action. The Super Car Thailand programme brings together several series, Super Bike, Super 1500 Super 2000 (modified sedans up to 2000cc), Super Commonrail (pick-ups) and the bill-topping muscular cars of the Super Car series, while this round was set to be boosted by the arrival on the bill the Asian Touring Car Series for a quadruple header. With 10 races slated for the day, it was going to be busy at the track. The whole format is spread over three days with free practice sessions on Friday with the first set of races for each class taking place on the Saturday followed by a second round of races on the Sunday.
