The design,the v8 engine and basically everything on this car makes you think that porsche did an amazing job back in 1977 When it came out in March 1977, the similarities were clear, but the parts had nothing major in common with any other Porsche. The front-mounted engine was an all-aluminium-alloy V8 with one toothed-belt driven overhead camshaft per bank working through hydraulic tappets. The water-cooled engine displaced 4474cc and delivered 240bhp at 5500rpm on 9-1octane fuel, with maximum torque of 257lb ft at 3600rpm.The transmission was put ahead of and in unit with the final drive, transaxle- style. The clutch followed racing practice by becoming a relatively small-diameter (7in) twin-plate version, and the rear suspension was also tweaked.There is a choice of two equally priced cars (a high £19499), with either automatic or manual five-speed boxes.
