1971 Dodge Custom 100 Pick Up 4BT Cummins Turbo Diesel

Description

From the first time I stepped foot into one of these old Dodge trucks I was sold, and haven't desired to own anything else. I found this truck a few years back "grazing" in a back yard. Someone had put in a junkyard sourced 318 and couldn't get it running. To make a long story short, I did get it running, later swapped in a built 360, and then couldn't keep gas in the tank, so the truck sat. I got this idea from a friend, I had intentions of putting in a 5.9 Cummins, but without doing some cutting I just really did not want to do, I decided that was not an option. I sourced the 4BT from a fellow about 150 miles south of me. This truck originally being a V8 with an Automatic it has 3.23 geared 8-3/4 rear end, coupled to the engine I am now running the Getrag 360. Future plans are for a higher gear ratio for the rear end, something along the lines of 2.94, with the gearing, size tires, and gearing of the transmission, though not a granny geared transmission I take off in 2nd gear, and shift into over drive around 45 MPH. It's not a drag truck, I have left all fuel settings on the engine stock. I wanted milage, and milage I got. Even as the truck sits ...
