70 Buick Skylark 455 GS tribute
Description
This is my 1970 Buick Skylark with a few GS parts thrown in for good measure. The engine is a .030 bored 455 code "SR" out of a 70 Riv. The engine has studded mains and heads along with forged pistons and a full porting job. The trans is a TH400 with a 3000 stall converter, plus a Derale oil pan with thoses tubes for cooling. The headers are Hooker super comps and a 3' exhaust leading to 2 chamber Flowmasters with turn downs. The differential is a 12 bolt POSI out of a 68 Chevelle with a 3.31 gear ratio. Traction is a problem ;-) The wheels are Centerlines from the 80's. Future upgrades planned are front disc brakes and a some body work and paint. The car is an original Fremont car and is pretty rust free. The original color is Polar white and future color as well. I've owned the car for about ten years. I plan on racing it at Barona 1/8 mile drag strip in the near future.
