Porsche 911 Carrera 2 996 vs supercharged VW Golf Mk2 16v. MIVW 2010, Panasonic HDC-SD60

Fun FUN FUN on the way to MIVW 2010 in the 996. I decided to take the opportunity to test out my new Panasonic HDC-SD60 along with my Cullmann suction camera mount purchased from www.fastfilms.co.uk. The mount I purchased was the suction cup mount with extendible tripod. This proved to be extremely flexible enabling me to configure the mount to hold the camera to the car in just about any position I could think of. I found the best results to combat vibration was to use the camera with the extension rod connected to the suction cup rather than simply attaching the camera directly to the cup. The extension bar acted as a very good vibration damper significantly stabilising the picture. Camera and suction cup tested at speeds up to 70mph (officer ;-) ) with the mount stuck just behind the drivers door (opening footage in the movie). As this is my first ever camcorder it is hard to say exactly how good it is compared to anything else. Camera performance, and battery life were very good overall and the camera was easy to use. My main issue was the microphone aggressively clipping when pointing directly into wind at any speed above 10mph. This could potentially be combated by retrofitting a sponge over the front as there doesn't appear to be an external mic input. This really was my only criticism and would be a definite consideration for my next camera purchase.
