Entry from: Dunedin, New Zealand Entry Title: "Dunedin" Entry: "We arrived in Dunedin mid-afternoon and made our way to the B&B we were booked at for the next week. It was an old English style house and we arranged to earn our keep with the owners. Helping them out with the gardening and building them a nice rock wall earned us a cozy bed and some home cooking, including a great traditional lamb stew. We also had lots of help from the resident B&B dog, a beautiful cocker spaniel named 'Lady Jane'. It was very nice to stay with locals and they gave us lots of tips for our day trips. Also, since the Commonwealth Games were on we spent a few evenings getting the inside scoop on the athletes and cheering on the Kiwi teams. Watching the NZ feed focused on many of the sports that Canada is not so strong in, so it was very interesting to see something different; netball, cricket, rugby, and lawnbowling. The highlight was watching the double over-time win over Australia in women's netball. The NZ athletic relationship to Australia is similar to that of Canada-US, with the much smaller underdog who loves to win in a few key sports. Dunedin itself is a gold-rush founded city, located on the Pacific Ocean with rolling hills bordering the compact downtown area. It is a University town and was alive with students <b>...</b>
